The Story Behind Starting Point:
A Journey from Brokenness to Purpose
I've walked the challenging path you're on. Everyone's story is unique, but some challenges are universal.
In the depths of my own story, I faced debilitating PTSD symptoms and a compromised memory from concussions due to a life overshadowed by fear and overwhelming uncertainty. Once a strong, athletic, and successful woman and mom, I became a shadow of my former self. The emotional and physical toll of the marriage was so profound that even medical experts couldn't promise a return to normalcy. Yet, it was my unwavering faith in God that became my anchor.
Amidst this life upheaval, and facing the profound spiritual shame especially prevalent in the Bible Belt where contemplating divorce can feel like a cardinal sin — even in abusive marriages — I yearned for a guiding spirit, to walk alongside me. Through hours of prayer and writing, came God’s mission on my life: to ensure that no one has to navigate the maze of separation and divorce alone. Those reflective moments transformed into a structured guide designed not only to protect individuals financially and legally, but also to help them survive—and thrive—emotionally and spiritually through the tumultuous phases of divorce.
Fast forward to early 2018, Starting Point Divorce Advocacy, LLC was born. Seemingly by divine orchestration, the company began to flourish. Today, we collaborate with leading attorneys, licensed therapists, child psychologists, and financial experts in Nashville, Middle TN, and around the nation to help create a tailored team of experts for you. We are committed to being your beacon and guide through any stage of separation or divorce.
We are also working to expand our reach through our initiative, Star Properties, which specializes in real estate transactions, providing another layer of expertise in divorce care.
My hope and mission are far-reaching. I aspire to prevent more marriages from breaking than the number we help dissolve. Life has its peaks and valleys, and it's clear now that my struggles weren't in vain. My deep faith, personal divorce season, and skills as a business professional and writer equipped me for this chapter of service. Just as my story has served a greater purpose, so can yours.
