The Story Behind

I've been in your shoes. We all have our stories; each one unique. 

Mine left me stuttering, difficulty walking and PTSD symptoms so great from fear that my neurologist couldn’t guarantee I’d ever regain full use of my brain or memory again. I went from being a strong, athletic, successful woman and mom to a hiding, shaking, broken shell of who I used to be. I was exhausted from protecting myself and my children, and my brain was shutting down.

I desperately needed someone to walk alongside me through my divorce and a spiritual Sherpa to lead the way.

I leaned in closer to God and wrote. Prayed. Begged Him for safety and security. Through those painful, yet beautiful hours with Him came His words and a passion to never let any woman walk the path of separation and divorce alone. Those hours of journaling turned into a scripted guide on how to prepare someone to survive their divorce emotionally, spiritually and financially, and how to create a God-designed and destined life plan where they could find their voice. My divorce cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and carried on for much longer than necessary. But I got stronger. My brain started to heal miraculously. God was carrying me and restoring me for something He needed me to do.

People started referring others to see how I could help a friend, themselves, someone at church...

In early 2018, Starting Point Divorce Advocacy, LLC launched and grew organically as if by supernatural mission. Go figure. God had used my broken story for His good.

Today, Starting Point partners with the most respected attorneys, therapists and financial experts in Davidson and Williamson County, and we get the honor of building your team of experts and spiritually guiding you through any stage of separation and divorce.

Starting Point Ministries, our non-profit arm, is in the process of evolving to ensure those who cannot afford an attorney or our services get the help they need and the spiritual empowerment they crave.

And Star Properties grew to provide real estate expertise specializing in divorce care - 

or for anyone needing to buy or sell a home - whether mandated by the court or to create a new life.

My prayer and mission is one day to save far more marriages than we help finalize. God has used my mountains – and given me skills as a business owner, organizer, writer, speaker, encourager, and spiritual guide for His good. And he will use your story and give you gifts and strengths you would never believe possible for His future good, and yours, too.
